Nuwara eliya is famous among tourists as the hill resort of sri lanka. Nuwara eliya, located at around 2000m above sea level, can be reached by travelling about 180 km from colombo. Nuwara eliya is also known by the names of ‘city of light’ and the tea capital of sri lanka among tourists. This travel destination is favoured by travellers as it is surrounded by lush tea plantations overlooked by pidurutalagala, the highest mountain in sri lanka.
