Airport / dambulla – 1 night
Dambulla cave complex is the largest and best preserved cave temple complex in sri lanka which has highlighted dambulla on the world tourist map. Besides the unbelievable craftsmanship, the temple has so much serenity, calmness and peace. The rock of the cave complex towers 160m over the surrounding plains and the complex holds more than 80 documented caves.
Dambulla / kandy – 2 nights
Kandy, located in the foothills of the central highlands, is a beautiful city, surrounded by hills and valleys, rivers, lakes and cascading waterfalls. Kandy is frequented by tourists for being a charming hill capital and centre of sri lanka’s rich culture. Kandy is a world heritage city that is visited by travellers to explore the unique history and the beautiful culture of sri lanka. Kandy is popularly known as maha nuwara (means “the great city”) among most of sri lanka tourists. Kandy can be toured to admire its magnificent architecture displaying indian and sinhalese designs. It is a most sacred city for buddhists with numerous temples and shrines, based on buddhist architecture. Kandy was declared as a unesco world heritage site in 1988 and thus became a tourism hub.
Kandy / nuwara eliya – 1 night
Nuwara eliya is famous among tourists as the hill resort of sri lanka. Nuwara eliya, located at around 2000m above sea level, can be reached by travelling about 180 km from colombo. Nuwara eliya is also known by the names of ‘city of light’ and the tea capital of sri lanka among tourists. This travel destination is favoured by travellers as it is surrounded by lush tea plantations overlooked by pidurutalagala, the highest mountain in sri lanka.
Nuwara eliya / bentota – 2 nights
